Haven Brady Jr signs promotional deal with Matchroom ahead of Project Series debut

Unbeaten lightweight prospect Haven Brady Jr. has signed a multi-fight promotional deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom.

Brady Jr. (17-0, 7 KOs) joins the promotion ahead of his return to action on Friday, August 28, when he faces Bryan Jimenez at Caribe Royale in Orlando.

The 24-year-old will compete over eight rounds on the first Matchroom and DAZN Project Series card, which is being staged in association with Boxlab Promotions.

Brady Jr. is trained by Bozy Ennis and will be looking to continue his unbeaten start to professional boxing as he begins a new chapter of his career in the lightweight division.

“I’m proud to officially announce my signing with Matchroom,” Brady Jr. said.

“This is a defining moment in my career and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity, focused on the work ahead, and determined to reach the highest level of the sport.”

Hearn believes Brady Jr. can become a serious contender at 135lbs and revealed that the fighter has already received strong backing from those around Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis.

“I’m delighted to welcome Haven to the team,” Hearn said.

“Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, Bozy and the guys in The Dungeon in Philly have told us that this young man is the real deal, and we’re going to give him every opportunity to prove that.”

Hearn also suggested Brady Jr. could soon find himself in the mix with the winner of the August 28 main event.

“Getting Haven on our first Project Series card in Orlando is exactly what this new venture is designed for, giving the next generation of stars a platform to strut their stuff, and a potential fight between Haven and the winner of the main event could well be next.”

Corey Marksman will headline the card against Christian Barreto, with the WBA Continental Americas and WBO Global lightweight titles on the line.

Marksman (13-0-1, 9 KOs) returns to Caribe Royale after defeating Jaycob Gomez in March and will be looking to extend his unbeaten record while adding another title.

Barreto (15-0, 9 KOs) also enters the contest undefeated and will compete over ten rounds for the first time in his professional career.

The co-main event will see two unbeaten Florida fighters meet at super-welterweight as Alex Bray faces Antraveous ‘Yamz’ Ingram over ten rounds.

Bray is 11-0 with eight knockouts, while Ingram enters the fight at 13-0-1 with seven stoppage victories.

Elsewhere on the card, unbeaten lightweight Kaipo Gallegos faces Desmond Lyons over eight rounds, while Puerto Rico’s Carlos DeLeon takes on Maxwel Montes at super-featherweight.

Brady Jr. will now look to make an immediate impression under the Matchroom banner, with a potential route towards the winner of Marksman vs Barreto already being discussed.
