Johnny Fisher has signed with ZUFFA Boxing and will headline the promotion's first London event at the Copper Box Arena on September 26, as 'The Romford Bull' begins the next chapter of his heavyweight career.

British heavyweight contender Johnny Fisher has become the latest recognisable name to join Dana White’s growing boxing venture, with ‘The Romford Bull’ set to headline ZUFFA Boxing 11 at London’s Copper Box Arena on September 26.

With ZUFFA Boxing still in its relative infancy, the promotion continues to attract attention by adding established names to its roster, with four-division world champion Shakur Stevenson becoming one of the company’s biggest signings earlier this month.

For Fisher, the move represents an opportunity to start a fresh chapter in his career. Less than a year removed from suffering the first defeat of his professional career, the Essex heavyweight will now headline ZUFFA’s first event in the nation’s capital as he looks to rebuild momentum and continue his climb through the division.

At 27, Fisher has quickly become one of Britain's most recognisable heavyweight boxers.

Not only because of his and his father’s growing social media presence, but also because of his entertaining, aggressive style inside the ring, relentlessly coming forward and overwhelming opponents.

From Matchroom to ZUFFA Boxing

Fisher’s switch from Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom to ZUFFA adds another chapter to the growing rivalry between Hearn and White, with the British heavyweight becoming the latest established name to join the American promoter’s roster.

Under Hearn’s guidance, Fisher compiled a professional record of 14-1, with 12 of those victories coming by knockout.

His only loss came in his second fight against fellow Brit David Allen.

Fisher picked up a split-decision victory over Allen in their first meeting in Saudi Arabia in December 2024, despite being knocked down for the first time in his professional career in the fifth round. The win also earned him the vacant WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight title.

In the rematch, Allen was able to fend off Fisher’s relentless attacks before stopping him in the fifth round at the Copper Box Arena in May of last year, taking the title in the process.

Most recently, Fisher returned to action in Monaco, defeating unbeaten Czech heavyweight Ivan Baláž after his original opponent, Herbert Matovu, withdrew from the contest.

Fisher weathered an early storm before flooring Baláž three times in the fourth round to secure another victory on his professional record.

With him now flying the ZUFFA flag, Fisher has been handed an immediate vote of confidence by being named the headline act for the promotion’s first event in London.

With his opponent yet to be announced, the eleventh event in the company’s history presents an opportunity for ‘The Romford Bull’ to further rebuild his standing and begin a new phase of his career on one of boxing’s newest platforms.

Attention will now turn to who stands opposite Fisher in September, as both Fisher and ZUFFA Boxing look to make a statement at the promotion’s first event in the capital.
