Liam Davies stops Nathaniel Collins after seven rounds

Liam Davies retained his European featherweight title after Nathaniel Collins was pulled out following the seventh round of their main event at BP Pulse Live in Birmingham.

Headlining Queensberry Promotions' Homestretch card live on DAZN, Davies dropped Collins in the opening round before taking control of the fight as the rounds progressed.

Collins recovered from the early knockdown and continued to trade with the champion, but Davies was consistently finding success with his straight shots.

Things became more difficult for the Scotsman when a cut developed around his right eye. The ringside doctor was called to inspect the damage during the fifth round and allowed Collins to continue.

Davies remained on top before Collins' corner eventually decided they had seen enough following the seventh, bringing the contest to an end before the start of round eight.

The victory moves Davies to 19-1 and marks the first successful defence of the European featherweight title he won against Francesco Grandelli earlier this year. Davies also entered the fight as the WBO Intercontinental featherweight champion.

Having previously held British and European honours at super-bantamweight, Davies has now won three consecutive fights since moving up to featherweight.

Everything from “Warburton spoils Heaney's farewell” onwards can stay as it is. The results, scorecards and stoppage details in those sections checked out.

Warburton spoils Heaney's farewell

Nathan Heaney's final professional fight ended in defeat as Gerome Warburton beat the former British middleweight champion for a second time.

The pair first met in March, when Warburton claimed a unanimous decision victory, leaving Heaney looking to settle the score before calling time on his career.

However, Warburton once again came away with the victory after ten rounds in Birmingham.

The judges scored the rematch 97-93, 97-93 and 96-95 in Warburton's favour.

Heaney leaves professional boxing with a record of 19-3-1, having captured the British middleweight title during a career which saw him build a huge following from his native Stoke.

McCormack becomes British champion

Luke McCormack claimed the vacant British super-lightweight title with a tenth-round knockout of Kay Prospere.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympian entered the contest with just five professional fights behind him but took another major step forward against the vastly more experienced Prospere.

McCormack eventually found the finish in the tenth, putting Prospere down with a combination that ended with a right uppercut.

Prospere was unable to beat the count, with the contest officially stopped at 1:28 of the round.

McCormack moves to 6-0 with four knockouts and adds the British title to his rapidly developing professional career.

Goldsmith stops Abubaker in seven

Bradley Goldsmith retained his IBF International middleweight title with a seventh-round stoppage of Amir Abubaker.

Goldsmith put Abubaker down in the fourth before taking complete control in the seventh.

Three more knockdowns followed during the round before the contest was stopped at 2:42, moving Goldsmith to 17-1 with 11 stoppage victories.

Lewis Richardson also continued his unbeaten start to professional boxing with a 60-54 points victory over Ivan Trofimovich.

Earlier in the evening, Nelson Birchall produced one of the standout finishes of the undercard, stopping Lewis Morris in the third round.

A right hook sent Morris to the canvas and, despite making it back to his feet, referee John Latham decided he was unable to continue. The stoppage came at 1:12 of the round.

Lasha Guruli defeated Hughie Wilson 77-75 over eight rounds, while Mikael Hussain, John Tom Varey and Reese Lynch also recorded points victories to complete Queensberry's Birmingham card.
