Marin Vetrila fearless ahead of Cage Warriors 203: “I don’t see danger”

We spoke with Marin Vetrila as he prepares to face undefeated Yusuf Ali-Taleb at a 74kg catchweight in London. “I don’t think about the danger. I’m just making sure I’m ready.”

Marin Vetrila is showing no signs of apprehension before his quick turnaround at Cage Warriors 203.

Vetrila (6:1), will be taking on the undefeated Yusuf Ali-Taleb (6:0) at a 74kg catchweight.

We spoke to the Moldovan finisher at Blood, Sweat and Tears Academy as he prepares for his clash next month.

Marin told us that despite typically fighting at lightweight he welcomes the catchweight bout, explaining that growing up he was required to fight bigger guys in training.

“Since I was a kid I was always fighting someone bigger – someone stronger. It made me better everyday. It was risky as you can get injured, but it made me stronger.”

“Lion Puncher” told us that fans can expect a fighting match between the two prospects, however he is wary that Ali-Taleb may be inclined to shoot for takedowns.

He said: “I think you can expect to see a beautiful striking fight. But maybe he’ll shoot, many strikers turn into wrestlers against me.”

Marin’s striking speaks for itself inside the cage.

All six of his wins have come via way of finish, with his most recent being a body-shot KO of Thomas Paull at Cage Warriors 196 in November.

Regardless of his pristine finishing record, he is aiming for nothing more than securing the win when March comes around.

“It doesn’t matter how I plan to win. I’m never focused on the finish. When you try to finish, it’ll never happen. You just need to just be focused, be in the moment and be in the fight.”

The focus that the Moldovan speaks of is currently grounded in his labour on the training mats.

Marin told us that the threats that Ali-Taleb may present are the last things on his mind.

“I don’t think about the danger – I’m just making sure I am training hard and ready from my side.”

In the past Marin has found it hard to find opponents, a struggle that meant he was side-lined between September 2024 to November 2025.

January of this year saw the striker sign a five fight deal with Cage Warriors, hopefully ending his matchmaking woes and time off between fights.

In a similar vein to his outlook on Ali-Taleb, Marin had no message for his opponent.

“No, messages. I will show him everything in the fight. Nothing personal”.

Vetrila vs. Ali-Taleb will be taking place at Cage Warriors 203 in London on March 20th.
