Alexander Volkanovski stops Movsar Evloev

Alexander Volkanovski is still the UFC Featherweight Champion after stopping Movsar Evloev by TKO in round two, becoming the first fighter to defeat the Russian.

'The Great' surpasses José Aldo for the most featherweight title wins in UFC history, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest 145-pound fighters in MMA.

The first round saw both fighters in a close contest, carefully timing their striking and grappling.

But the second round truly showed why Volkanovski is one of the best in the business, stunning Evloev with multiple shots before taking the fight to the ground and delivering the perfect ground-and-pound finish.

The Australian will be looking to remain featherweight champion for as long as possible, but who will be next to challenge Volkanovski?

Petr Yan defeats Merab Dvalishvili in trilogy fight

The co-main event did not disappoint in Abu Dhabi as Petr Yan prevailed in the trilogy with Merab Dvalishvili, winning by unanimous decision to remain the UFC Bantamweight Champion.

'The Machine' started off well in the first two rounds, causing havoc for Yan with his constant takedown attempts mixed with some sneaky strikes.

However, the Russian figured out the game plan and began to turn the tables with better takedown defence and precise striking, troubling Dvalishvili in rounds three, four and five. This ultimately led to his first successful title defence in the organisation.

Bringing an end to what may have been one of the best trilogies in modern UFC history, Yan will look forward to his next challenger, who could be a familiar opponent in Song Yadong.
