UFC Macau delivered a memorable night of action at the Galaxy Arena, headlined by a crucial bantamweight clash between Song Yadong and former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo. Song Yadong Submits Deiveson Figueiredo
Song Yadong redeemed himself in impressive style as he defeated former UFC Flyweight Champion Deiveson Figueiredo.
China's own kept the battle on the feet for the majority of the fight, striking with Figueiredo for as long as he could.
The Brazilian attempted several takedowns which failed and, by round two, going to the ground proved to be a mistake. Yadong countered one of the attempts with a guillotine choke and submitted 'Deus da Guerra' late in the round.
The number five bantamweight contender returned to the win column while keeping his place in the rankings as the 'Kung Fu Kid' aims to build momentum towards a future title shot.
Menifield Spoils Home Crowd Party
Alonzo Menifield silenced the Galaxy Arena in the co-main event when he stopped Zhang Mingyang by first-round TKO.
Both men engaged in some back-and-forth striking action, but 'Atomic' got the better of the Chinese fighter as he unleashed a barrage of powerful shots which knocked down Mingyang twice.
The 38-year-old secured an important victory that not only returned him to the win column but also preserved his place in the light heavyweight rankings.
Pavlovich Returns To Knockout Form
It was back to knockout-winning ways for Sergei Pavlovich, who made quick work of Tallison Teixeira, stopping the Brazilian in just 39 seconds.
It is the first finish the Russian has earned in more than three years and he has still yet to go past the first round in any of his knockout victories.
Three consecutive victories, capped by another emphatic finish, have Pavlovich firmly focused on a future shot at UFC heavyweight gold.
Kai Asakura Earns First UFC Victory
In his return to 135 pounds, Kai Asakura finally claimed his first UFC victory after knocking out Cameron Smotherman in the first round.
The 32-year-old secured his first MMA win since December 2023, when he became the Rizin FF Bantamweight Champion.
