Christian Leroy Duncan faces Brendan Allen in his first UFC main event on October 10 in Las Vegas, with Jai Herbert also featuring on the UFC Fight Night card.

England's Christian Leroy Duncan faces the biggest test of his UFC career on Saturday, October 10, when he takes on Brendan Allen in his first main event at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

The British middleweight enters the contest on a five-fight winning streak, having most recently defeated Jared Cannonier in Oklahoma back in July.

Should CLD be declared the winner over the fourth-ranked Allen, it would offer a major opportunity to climb the division's rankings.

With years of experience competing against some of the division's best, Allen poses a significant challenge for the Brit, whose striking will be tested against an opponent capable of making the fight uncomfortable across five rounds.

Duncan's striking and movement have been central to his recent success, but Allen's ability to close the distance and threaten submissions could present a different challenge. Maintaining space and preventing extended grappling exchanges may prove crucial if the Brit is to secure the biggest victory of his career.

Allen's last contest saw him defeat Edmen Shahbazyan at the Meta APEX back in June, extending his winning streak to three fights.

However, the story behind Duncan's first UFC main event extends beyond rankings and results. Speaking exclusively to Rob Smith ahead of the contest, Duncan opened up about the personal motivation driving him forward, including the lasting impact of his late friend Joel, known as Yungs.

While both Allen and Duncan take centre stage in Las Vegas, Saturday's card features several other intriguing matchups, with fighters looking to build momentum and make their own moves in their respective divisions.

Matheus Camilo vs Jai Herbert

The co-main event sees Britain's Jai Herbert return to the Octagon against Brazilian lightweight Matheus Camilo.

Herbert, who's known as 'The Black Country Banger', comes into the contest following a dramatic victory over Mandel Nallo in April, rallying to secure a finish after appearing close to defeat.

His opponent Camilo, meanwhile, has won back-to-back fights since suffering defeat in his UFC debut, most recently stopping Nazim Sadykhov in the first round in Baku.

The clash between prospect and veteran adds another layer of intrigue, with Camilo looking to test himself against Herbert's reach and experience. The Brazilian will be hoping to extend his winning run, while Herbert looks to use his experience to halt Camilo's momentum and secure another victory.

Loopy Godínez vs Ketlen Souza

Loopy Godínez returns to the Octagon against Brazil's Ketlen Souza in a strawweight clash between an established contender and a fighter looking to climb the rankings.

Godínez has spent much of her UFC career competing against the division's top names, including Mackenzie Dern and Jéssica Andrade. However, her most recent outing ended in defeat to Tatiana Suarez at UFC 327.

Souza arrives in Las Vegas on a two-fight winning streak, most recently stopping Ariane Carnelossi in the first round in June.

With Godínez's experience facing ranked opposition and Souza's recent momentum, the bout offers the Brazilian an opportunity to push herself further into the strawweight rankings.

Andre Fili vs Kai Kamaka III

Andre Fili and Kai Kamaka III meet in a featherweight contest between two fighters looking to build momentum.

Fili returns for his third bout this calendar year after suffering a close decision defeat to Jose Miguel Delgado in March.

Wishing to bounce back, he fought Vinicius Oliveira on short notice in June, earning a Fight of the Night bonus despite coming up short.

Kamaka, meanwhile, has split his two fights since returning to the promotion, edging Dakota Hope in April before losing to unbeaten Liverpool prospect Luke Riley at UFC 329 in July.

Both men will be hoping to return to winning ways on Saturday.

Malcolm Wellmaker vs Otari Tanzilovi

Malcolm Wellmaker meets Otari Tanzilovi at bantamweight, with both men looking to get their careers back on track following recent setbacks.

Wellmaker enjoyed a rapid rise after joining the UFC, winning his first two fights inside the Octagon to move to 10-0 overall.

However, back-to-back defeats stalled his progression, and a recent gym change could provide the fresh start needed to rediscover the form that made him one of the division's promising prospects.

Tanzilovi also arrives following a defeat, having lost to unbeaten prospect Shane Collins in June. The Georgian will be aiming to secure his first UFC victory and halt Wellmaker's slide in the process.

Julius Walker vs Gerald Meerschaert

Headlining the preliminary card, Julius Walker takes on MMA veteran Gerald Meerschaert in the light heavyweight division.

Walker enters with a 7-3 record and will be looking to make the most of the opportunity against an opponent with significantly more professional experience.

Meerschaert boasts 37 professional career victories and has spent years competing against high-level opposition. Although best known for his work at middleweight, the veteran now faces Walker at 205 pounds, presenting a difficult test for the American.

Other preliminary bouts

Also on the preliminary card, Francisco Prado is set to face Ismael Bonfim at lightweight.

Bonfim has 20 career victories and brings plenty of experience into the matchup, but Prado will be eager to put his own recent setbacks behind him.

In the welterweight division, Niko Price takes on Leon Shahbazyan in a clash between two fighters hoping to make progress after inconsistent spells. Price has competed against some of the division's toughest names throughout his UFC career, picking up a 16-11 record in the process.

Felipe Franco meets Brendson Ribeiro at light heavyweight, with Franco arriving with an 11-2 record while Ribeiro has accumulated 17 professional victories.

Further down the card, undefeated heavyweight RJ Harris takes on Allen Frye Jr., while Darya Zheleznyakova faces Alice Pereira at bantamweight.

At flyweight, Ernesta Kareckaite meets Melissa Gatto, completing the preliminary card.

For Duncan, Saturday represents the biggest opportunity of his UFC career to date. Victory over the fourth-ranked Allen could propel the British middleweight towards the division's elite, but the American will be determined to spoil the occasion and strengthen his own position among the contenders.
