Cage Warriors 206: Unplugged Results | Binder and O'Sullivan Score Huge Finishes
Andreeas Binder and Alexander O'Sullivan led a night packed with stoppages as Cage Warriors 206: Unplugged returned to Manchester with another action-filled event. Eight of the ten fights ended inside the distance.
Cage Warriors 206: Unplugged returned to Manchester and delivered a night packed with finishes, chaos, and a loud Irish-heavy crowd.
Andreeas Binder (12-2) closed the show with a second-round stoppage of Sado Ucar (20-9), but the moment everyone will remember came earlier when Alexander Lööf (9-5) flattened Alexander O’Sullivan (5-1) with a vicious left hook in a co-main event knockout that shook the venue.
MAIN CARD DELIVERS NON-STOP ACTION
The main event opened at a frantic pace, with both Binder and Ucar trading heavy kicks, but once Binder started mixing in the wrestling, the fight changed completely. He secured three takedowns across the fight and began controlling the action on the ground. By the second round, Binder had fully taken control and forced the stoppage with a sustained barrage of punches.
Alexander Lööf (9-4) and Alexander O'Sullivan (5-1) wasted no time trading heavy shots in the opening round, giving fans exactly the type of brawl they expected. Then in round two, Lööf stepped in with a devastating left hook that completely shut O'Sullivan off, producing the undeniable knockout of the night and sending the Manchester crowd into disbelief.
Erick Maia (9-4) started brightly, moving well and landing clean shots on Solomon Simon (8-1), even hurting the former featherweight champion in the opening round. However, Simon gradually took control through his grappling, opening a cut on the Brazilian before securing a second-round ground-and-pound stoppage.
Next Generation MMA fighter Jake McHugh (4-2) secured a solid bounce-back win after being knocked out at the previous Cage Warriors Unplugged event in Manchester back in March. He looked far more composed this time around, taking Lorenzo de Nigris (2-2) down early and maintaining control before finishing him with elbows.
Ger Harris (7-4) had the crowd firmly behind him and controlled Kayck Alencar (12-7) from the opening bell, securing a first-round TKO victory.
Stiven Shehu (4-1) and Kevin Robledo (6-2) were pure chaos. Both men came out swinging from the first bell and it stayed that way until Shehu landed a clean head kick in the third round that ended the bout instantly.
PRELIMS SET THE TONE FOR A WILD NIGHT
Jordan “Slick” Molinari (4-2) showed exactly why he earned that nickname, as his style proved far too awkward for Angelo Terenzio (3-3) to deal with. The Italian, who entered the contest off a submission victory at the previous Unplugged event, struggled to handle the unpredictability of the Liverpool fighter, who became the first member of Next Generation MMA to secure a win on the night.
His teammates George Staines, Adam Cullen and Nathan Fletcher were also set to compete the following evening at Cage Warriors 207.
Trevor Makengo (2-1) vs Matthew O'Rourke (0-1) was a real brawl early on. O'Rourke absorbed plenty of heavy punches and showed a strong chin, but Makengo's pressure eventually proved too much. After getting the fight to the floor, he secured a rear-naked choke finish.
Elsa Cerezo (1-0) endured a difficult start to her professional debut after being dropped early by Eimear Darcy (3-3), but she completely took over once the fight hit the mat, earning a first-round ground-and-pound stoppage.
Yusuf Nazokatov (3-3) opened the night with a clean grappling victory over Cristiano Oliveira (2-3).
