Otto Wallin vs Vladyslav Sirenko Added to Zuffa Boxing 09 Undercard

Former world title challenger Otto Wallin headlines five newly announced preliminary bouts for Zuffa Boxing 09 at Madison Square Garden on July 26.

Former world title challenger Otto Wallin has been confirmed for Zuffa Boxing 09, where he will face Ukraine’s Vladyslav Sirenko on the preliminary card at the Infosys Theatre inside Madison Square Garden on July 26. Wallin previously shared the ring with heavyweight names including Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Derek Chisora.

Zuffa Boxing returns later this month as Edgar Berlanga and Steven Butler go toe-to-toe in the super middleweight division in the Big Apple.

Second on the bill, the talented unbeaten American Richardson Hitchins takes on one of his toughest tests to date in Ricardo Salas on one of the biggest platforms of his career so far.

Also on the main card, Sergiy Derevyanchenko faces Jalil Hackett in a classic battle between experience and youth, with the veteran taking on a young and hungry boxer with knockout power.

Wallin vs Sirenko is one of five newly announced bouts ahead of the company’s ninth numbered event.

Otto Wallin returns against Sirenko

The Swede has compiled a 29-3 professional record, with all three defeats coming against elite British heavyweight opposition in Fury, Joshua and Chisora.

The 35-year-old enters the contest looking to build on his most recent performance, a second-round stoppage victory over Chris Thomas. Wallin controlled the bout from the opening bell before forcing the finish, adding another win to his record.

Standing opposite him will be Vladyslav Sirenko, a Ukrainian heavyweight who enters the bout with an impressive record of his own.

With a professional record of 22-1, including 19 knockouts, Sirenko remains a force to be reckoned with inside the ropes.

Sirenko was last in action on the Usyk vs Dubois rematch card at Wembley Stadium in July 2025, where he suffered the first defeat of his professional career against Solomon Dacres.

The loss was only the second time in Sirenko’s career that he had failed to secure a stoppage, highlighting the aggressive style which has defined his career so far.

New York prospects feature on the undercard

Away from the heavyweight division, New York’s own Arnold Gonzalez will be looking to continue his three-fight winning streak when he takes on Emiliano Moreno in an eight-round welterweight bout.

Gonzalez enters the contest with an 18-1 record, with nine of those victories coming by way of knockout.

Standing opposite him will be Moreno, who brings a 12-1 record with seven stoppage victories of his own.

The matchup represents an opportunity for both men to strengthen their positions as they look to make a statement in New York.

Heavyweight fireworks expected

Another heavyweight clash promises fireworks as the undefeated Kashaun Davis takes on Romania’s Mihai Nistor in a battle between two fighters who have built their records around stoppage victories.

The pair enter the contest with a combined professional record of 19-0. Nistor may be a name that some British boxing fans recognise, having famously stopped Anthony Joshua during his amateur career.

With neither man having tasted defeat as a professional, which unbeaten record will fall in New York City?

The preliminary card also features an unbeaten featherweight clash between Troy Nash and Ethan Perez, with both men looking to preserve their undefeated records.

Nash enters the contest at 7-0-1, while Perez boasts an equally impressive 8-0-1 record, setting up another closely matched contest between two rising prospects.

Elsewhere, undefeated super featherweight Dominique Francis continues his rise against Argentina's Andres Sosa.

Francis brings a perfect 16-0 record into the bout, with 10 of those victories coming by way of knockout, while Sosa's greater experience offers the unbeaten prospect another valuable test as he looks to extend his winning run.

With experienced contenders, unbeaten prospects and several intriguing heavyweight contests making up the prelims, Zuffa Boxing 09 appears to have assembled an undercard capable of complementing an already stacked main card.
