UFC 328 Weigh-In Results: Chimaev vs Strickland Title Fight Official in Newark
Newark prepares for an action-packed fight card at the Prudential Center as 26 fighters stepped on the scale to confirm their showdowns for tomorrow.
UFC 328 will be the first event this year to showcase two championship contests, as both champions make their first title defences.
Khamzat Chimaev (15-0) was the last competitor to weigh in and nearly made the MMA community wait until the deadline. The UFC Middleweight Champion and title challenger Sean Strickland both weighed in at 185, meaning the scheduled five-round fight is set and ready.
UFC Flyweight Champion Joshua Van (16-2) and the number three contender, Tatsuro Taira (18-1), had no problems on the scale, both weighing in at 125.
It was almost a clean sweep of successful weigh-ins, apart from Jeremy Stephens (29-22, 1 NC), who missed the lightweight limit by four pounds at 160, meaning he will forfeit 30% of his fight purse to King Green (34-17-1, 1 NC).
