Aiden Lee Targets Nik Bagley Featherweight Title Clash Following Cage Warriors 201 Victory
“I’m the best in Europe, and I want to prove that.”
Aiden Lee is already looking ahead following his latest victory at Cage Warriors 201: Unplugged, as the featherweight contender eyes a title shot or a potential UFC call-up.
Speaking to us after returning to training, Lee (15-10) appeared relaxed but focused, having resumed his training just days after his most recent fight.
He said: “I fought on the Friday.
“I was back in the gym on Monday.”
Now riding a two-fight win streak, the Birmingham fighter has set his sights on a clash with current champion Nik Bagley (8-1), who captured the featherweight title at Cage Warriors 200.
Lee believes his skill set gives him the edge in a potential matchup, backing himself across all areas against the champion.
He said: “I think he’s a solid guy.
“But I think I’m better than him everywhere.”
Lee has built an extensive record, and stressed that this experience is a key difference when compared to Bagley and some of the division’s rising prospects.
He feels his record has been overlooked, despite competing against more experienced opposition throughout his career.
The 30-year-old fighter, who has been at Cage Warriors for seven years, insists he is now entering his prime.
He said: “I’ve had 25 fights.
“I’m 10 times better than I was when I was 23.”
He also told us of his desire to remain active, making it clear he will not wait for opportunities if a title shot does not show up immediately.
He said: “I’m not going to wait around.”
He added: “If the Bagley fight isn’t there, I’ll fight whoever.”
The veteran’s activity remains central to his plans as he pushes towards the next level, whether that comes in Cage Warriors or at the UFC if the call comes.
For now, Lee has the featherweight title firmly in his sights, and is confident that a victory over Bagley would open the door to more opportunities.
He said: “I want the Bagley fight because I’m the best in Europe, and I want to prove that.”
With strong momentum and confidence, Lee now looks to secure the fight he believes will define the next stage of his career.
