UFC Vegas 118 gave fans an array of finishes and saw a rising welterweight talent defeat a former world champion.

UFC Vegas 118 proved to be a good warm-up for next week's UFC Freedom 250, which will take place at the White House. The event was headlined by Belal Muhammad and Gabriel Bonfim, with the fight card producing some impressive finishes from prospects and experienced mixed martial artists.

Bonfim Comfortably Beats Muhammad

Gabriel Bonfim earned the biggest victory of his MMA career after going to the judges' scorecards with Belal Muhammad, winning by unanimous decision.

The Brazilian's striking improved as the fight went on, landing clean punch combinations and leg kicks to rack up damage the former UFC Welterweight Champion.

Both Bonfim and Muhammad have shown in the past that they pose a threat on the ground, but neither man attempted a takedown.

The welterweight division will see plenty of changes as the 28-year-old breaks into the top five, extends his winning streak to five fights, and may now be just one bout away from fighting for UFC gold.

Brendan Allen Triumphs in Fight of the Night

In a fun striking battle, Brendan Allen prevailed in the co-main event, defeating Edmen Shahbazyan by unanimous decision.

Most of the middleweight clash was spent on the feet, with 'All In' producing more damage across the three rounds, leaving Shahbazyan's face in a bloody state.

It remains unclear whether the number four contender will be in title contention after beating an unranked opponent, but one more victory could put him in the conversation as he now rides a three-fight win streak.
